SY Lionheart J-Class
SY Lionheart J-Class – 2010
Sailing yacht Lionheart is the new J-Class based on one of the line plans that Starling Burgess & Olin Stephens designed in 1936 for the Ranger Syndicate.
The line plan was elaborated, adjusted and optimised by Hoek Design in Edam. Lionheart was launched in 2010 and since then sails successfully in competitions and as a charter yacht. The current owner and his crew are very content with the systems on board. Lionheart was built according to ABS A1 and MCA LY2. Lionheart has two 33kW Kohler generators, a Webasto reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating system, a Hamann waste water processing installation by MARPOL IV, two HEM water makers and an ingenious exhaust system that takes up very little interior space. The B&G navigation package is a fully fledged competition system with Deckman software. For the engineering of the systems of the J-Class Lionheart a relatively straightforward system was chosen.
Anything that wasn’t strictly necessary to meet the clients needs, was left out. This has made the J-Class Lionheart a very seaworthy vessel that despite its comfort has a no-nonsense system which until now has had very few complications. In 2011 J-Class Lionheart was a finalist at The World Super Yacht Awards.
J-Class Lionheart werd in 2011 finalist in The World Superyacht Awards.
